Analysis Of My Survey Results

How old are you?
From my survey results I can clearly determine who my target audience  and what it is that they enjoy watching. From my results I can see that 89% of the people who participated in the survey were aged 15-16 this tells me that my target audience is fully teenage audience as the other 11% were aged 17-19, from this however I can assure that the age rating of my film opening is aged 15 and no older as it would be unsuitable as my target audience is 12-17 fro which an 18 would be inappropriate.

What Genre of film do you prefer?
78% of the people who took the survey were male and 22% were female of these I found that 44% preferred to watch films of the crime drama genre. This benefits me as this is my chosen genre for my film opening as a result I can deduce, due to the fact that nearly all of my audience are young teenagers, that teenagers prefer to watch movies of this genre as a result my film opening should be highly engaging to them as it is of the genre that they most enjoy.

How many films do you watch per month?
For this question I can see that most people watch around 7-10 movies per month considering that this is quite a high amount I can tell that my target audience watch films on a regular basis. Therefore my results for my survey are more reliable as the participants relate to movies well.

Do you think that the opening of a movie is important?
Nearly all of the participants think that the opening to a movie is a very important part of a good movie for reasons such as it builds the tension and keeps you engaged. Due to this I now that my opening sequence has to be well constructed to appeal to my target audience.

If so, what do you think makes a good opening to a movie?
I chose to implement this question into my survey because it will give me an idea on what my target audience is looking for and use those ideas to improve my opening sequence. The most common response to this question was that it builds tension and is unpredictable as a result I will use this to make my opening sequence unpredictable and tense.
